"We pray for our country, our leaders and the people who call these United States home. We pray that we turn from violence and seek peace.
As a people of faith who just celebrated the coming of peace in the world, let us hold on to the hope that love will prevail.
We denounce violence of all forms, and resist the evil that propels humanity to seek power through such violent behavior.
We are people of peace, and will stand firm and boldly against all that oppresses.
As your voice shouts against the hatred and harm, do so toward the peace that calls us together not only as a united people in this nation, but united in the love of God through Christ."
