Recently, I read about a Celtic tradition within the monastic community, a practice of pilgrimage called "perigrinatio (spiritual journey on foot)." The monks would set sail in a small boat without an oar or rudder and let the winds and current of divine love carry them to their "place of resurrection." Whether by river or sea, they would find themselves in their next place of rest and being and new beginning, not of their choosing. It was a practice of profound trust in the One who guides, protects, provides expresses deep compassion as they are shepherded into a new life.

As we continue answering the question, "Where do we see resurrection?" as we practice resurrection in the season of Eastertide, we are invited to step into resurrection life alongside the image of the Good Shepherd... one who deeply cares for and is invested in the thriving of each and every sheep.

No matter who you are, or where you've been, or where you are on life's journey, trust in the One, and know the pasture and still waters await your presence... as we know there is room, just for you, to encounter the life-giving love of the divine in our midst, just as you are.
